A temporary bookshop designed for the Middelheim open-air sculpture museum. The shop was situated in the former office room of the modernist Braem pavilion. Instead of integrating pieces of furniture in the 70's interior, the shop was conceived as a box in a box playfully confronting each-other through the contrasting use of materials (OSB wood vs white bricks) and light (incandescent light vs daylight). The space between the shop and the pavilion was intentionally left open to reveal the construction and to create an uncanny space, too narrow to walk in-between.
