Eames was one of the first to mould 2D plywood into 3D objects using high-tech production methods. I reversed this idea. Whereas Eames moulded his foldings, I unfold his mouldings. The material used to do this is not relevant. The chair has become a flat surface, which means that it can be printed on any flat material. The advantage of this ‘un-folding’ is that you can put your LCW up against the wall and save space for another ‘design classic’.
'100% unfolding LCW' was an entree to designboom's competition 'folding chairs' from which it was disqualified. Read the article on Designboom.
